Sunrise Flight Academy is located in beautiful Ormond Beach, Florida, and has been in continuous operation since 1983. For over 30-years, Sunrise Flight Academy has trained professional pilots from more than 50 countries with one of the best safety records in the industry.
When choosing a flight school, trust is important. Sunrise Flight Academy is proud to be the exclusive flight training provider for Florida State College at Jacksonville where we offer accredited degree programs in Professional Pilot Technology (A.S.) and Polk State College at Lakeland, Florida. If you want to pursue a bachelor’s degree, credits from your professional pilot training transfer to many four-year aviation colleges and universities including Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Our satellite training facilities are conveniently located at Jacksonville’s historic Cecil Airport and Herlong Recreational Airport, and at Lakeland-Linder Regional Airport in Polk County, Florida, home of the world famous EAA Sun-n-Fun fly-in.
Sunrise Flight Academy is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration to offer training under Part 141 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. Because your needs are paramount, we also offer training under the flexibility of Part 61 as well. Our FAA approved proprietary training syllabus and immersive training environment allows you to finish on time – and within budget – with the advanced knowledge and skills you need for success.
To meet the growing needs of the international airline industry, Sunrise Flight Academy is approved by the United States Department of Homeland Security to accept foreign students under the Student and Exchange Visitor Program. In fact, we provide all documents and assistance necessary for international students to receive the M-1 visa, which permits travel to the United States for professional pilot training. Our programs include international students from over 50 countries across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas. We currently have students that hail from Saudi Arabia, India, China, Panama, Korea and England.

Sunrise Flight Academy’s professional pilot programs include everything you need for success, including the medical exam, textbooks, pilot supplies, uniforms, and all written and flight tests.
There are no hidden fees or “extras,” and we make all the arrangements in advance.
As an authorized CATS Testing Center, Sunrise Flight Academy offers our students the highest quality computer-based licensing and certification testing available in a quiet, familiar and conducive environment under strict security controls.
Sunrise Flight Academy fulfills the personal needs of our students as well. We offer all-inclusive training programs that provide comfortable, fully furnished student housing and convenient in-house transportation services, or we’ll help students make those arrangements on their own.
Sunrise Flight Academy owns and expertly maintains our own fleet of dedicated training aircraft including one of the largest fleets of Cessna 152’s in the United States. We have over 90 aircraft available, including the Beechcraft King Air B100 and Piper Chieftain, and our computerized dispatching service ensures that scheduling your training flight is never a problem.
To make certain you are proficient with today’s complex flight management systems, Sunrise Flight Academy also offers Technically Advanced Aircraft equipped with the G1000 electronic flight information system. We also offer state-of-the-art ground-based flight simulators, including sophisticated FAA approved glass panel flight training devices.

Our parent company, Sunrise Aviation, Inc., serves as a full-service FBO at beautiful Ormond Beach Municipal Airport providing both full and self-service AvGas and Jet-A, along with quality maintenance and inspection services provided by our own staff of FAA certified airframe and power plant technicians.
Flight planning and dispatch services are readily available to our students and in-transit pilots. Within the dispatch lounge we have conveniently located high definition aviation weather displays featuring Doppler radar, current observations, and forecasts for destination airports.
In addition, our retail shop provides access to current aeronautical charts, pilot supplies, and the full line of quality David Clark aviation headsets.
Our on-airport facilities encompass over 32,000 square feet of classroom, flight planning and office space to include a 3,000 square foot maintenance facility and an additional 24,000 gallon fueling terminal. We also offer expert ground handling with secure hangar and tie-down space to accommodate most general aviation aircraft and light business jets.
